For some people, conventional prosthetics seem uncomfortable because they cause them irritation or feature edges to narrow or even produce nausea. Further, this kind of prosthetic must be attached to the teeth on both sides of the empty space. Tooth implants offer the advantage of not having to degrade the adjacent teeth to hold the prosthetic in place.
At the Periodontics and Implant Dentistry Center of Stamford, we understand that healthy gums and beautiful teeth can not only boost confidence, but improve one’s overall health. We emphasize a comprehensive approach to our patients’ dental needs, managing all aspects of periodontal treatment in coordination with the restorative dentist, other dental specialists, and physicians. We provide individualized quality dental care from routine evaluations and managing periodontal disease to more complex procedures such as dental implants, gum grafting and bone grafting.
In order to get an implant, it is necessary to have healthy gums and a bone in good condition to support the implant. The patient must be willing to commit to maintain these structures in good health through regular visits to the dentist and a thorough hygiene process.
